How it works
- Create the invoice and send it by WhatsApp or email. Every invoice has a pay link.
- Your customer opens the link and sees the invoice. They don't need an account.
- They choose Pesapal checkout and pay with M-Pesa, Airtel Money or a card.
- PaidFast confirms the payment with Pesapal, marks the invoice Paid and sends the receipt.
What you need
- The Starter plan (KES 499 per month). Online checkout is part of Starter.
- Your own verified Pesapal merchant account. Payments settle straight to you, not to PaidFast.
- Invoices in KES, UGX, TZS or USD, the currencies Pesapal accepts.
Connecting takes a few minutes: paste your Pesapal keys into PaidFast settings. The steps are in the Pesapal docs.
How payments are kept safe
- Every payment is confirmed directly with Pesapal, never taken from the customer's browser, so a faked return can't mark an invoice paid.
- The amount and currency are checked. If Pesapal reports less than the invoice, or a different currency, the payment is held for your review instead of being recorded.
- If Pesapal reverses a payment, PaidFast takes it off the invoice so the balance is owed again, and tells you.
On the Free plan
Every invoice still gets a pay link on the Free plan. Customers pay you directly, by bank, cash or mobile money, then confirm it from the link. You check it and approve it, and PaidFast records the payment and sends the receipt. See recording a manual payment.
